Emergency Care

Our animal hospital is fully equipped to handle all pet emergencies. When a sick, injured, or poisoned pet arrives, our first priority is to stabilize the pet’s condition. Our veterinarians will immediately examine and assess your pet to provide stabilizing emergency treatments such as oxygen, fluids, wound care, and/or medications.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Stays

When a pet requires critical care, this means they are in need of a higher level of medical attention with close monitoring of their vital signs and more frequent examination that necessitates a stay for one or more days in hospital, we work closely with local 24 hour veterinary emergency hospital to provide the best care possible.

While in the ICU, veterinarians and emergency specialists will closely monitor your patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen saturation levels. This allows us to keep a close eye on the pet’s condition to ensure they remain stable and are able to heal and recover.

A pet might require a stay in the ICU following a surgical procedure, a serious injury, or after ingesting a toxic substance.

Recovery

Following an emergency or a stay in the ICU, most pets will require some follow-up care and additional outpatient monitoring. Prior to a pet’s discharge, our veterinarians will discuss all the details with you to ensure you’re able to help your pet recover fully.

Team Approach

Our entire team communicates and works together to ensure critical care patients receive exceptional emergency care and a high level of attention at all times. Additionally, if a patient requires attention from a veterinary specialist, we will provide you with a referral and work with the specialist to ensure your pet receives the care they need.
